Terrified
Katie Holmes and daughter Suri had a narrow escape as a bin lorry hit their car.
Batman Begins star Katie (33) and her six-year-old girl were said to be shaken but unhurt after the crash in New York.
Witnesses said their black Mercedes S550 collided with the truck after the pair’s chauffeur picked them up from Suri’s gym class. The car was left with a dent and scratches to the rear driver’s side panel.
Police rushed to the scene near Manhattan’s Chelsea Piers at 9.30pm on Monday and spoke to the lorry driver and Katie’s chauffeur. Katie and Suri were nowhere to be seen, sparking rumours they had been whisked away by aides. Onlookers said the truck, from Classic Sanitation Recycling, had backed into their car.
Katie had been snapped in the area earlier that day holding hands with little Suri while shadowed by bodyguards. They have been seen out almost every day since Katie split from Mission: Impossible star
Tom Cruise (50) last month. Yesterday a tired-looking Tom was finally seen with his daughter in New York for the first time since the shock break-up.
