Rock legend
Keith Richards has revealed he can’t remember any of the
Rolling Stones smash hits that he wrote with Mick Jagger.
Guitar hero Keith (68), who has enjoyed a wild booze-and-drugs lifestyle, says his mind can’t recall the chords and notes for classic songs like Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Satisfaction.
But fortunately, he says that when he gets on stage his fingers somehow take over and perform.
The rocker is soon to hit arenas around the world as the Stones reform to mark their 50th anniversary.
And he said: “When you kick off a song you say ‘I can’t remember how the middle bit goes’, but the fingers remember even if you don’t.
“I don’t practise as much as I should, probably, but now that we’re putting the act together again I’m getting the chops back together, yeah.” After a lifetime of partying hard, Keith said his memories of five decades in the business are also confused. “The middle’s a bit blurry but the beginning’s pretty clear, and so is now,” he said.
