Westlife's Kian Egan and wife, Jodi Albert, celebrated the greatest Christmas present of all with the early delivery of a their first baby last night.
The pop millionaire and former Wonderland star, who married in Barbados in May, 2009, welcomed their baby boy at 6.10pm in Sligo yesterday evening.
Their baby, who weighed in at a bouncing 8 pounds and 2 ounces, was due to arrive on January 1.
Delighted Kian sent out a message to friends and family revealing they've already chosen the exotic name "Koa" for the child. Koa is a traditional Hawaiian name meaning brave, bold or fearless.
"Our little boy Koa Egan was born at 6.10 pm," he said. "Both mum and baby are doing great. We're so happy." Kian and Jodi revealed that the pregnancy wasn't planned but they were thrilled with the news earlier this year. Jodi admitted she was stunned to discover she was expecting their first child on hubby Kian 31st birthday.
The beauty said she will never forget the date of April 29 as it was also the day of the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate.
"We were at home in London and it was Kian's birthday and the day of the royal wedding and I did this pregnancy test and two lines came up," she said. "I wondered whether I was reading it wrong so I ran out and showed Kian. One minute we were laughing and the next we were crying but it was all happiness."
Kian admitted he was stunned by the news as they planned to have a baby later in their marriage. "It was a shock as we hadn't planned it," he said. "In one way we were like: 'Are we ready?' Then we'd say: 'Course we're ready, this is going to be amazing!"
Kian (31) and Jodi (28) married in an exotic beach wedding two years ago in Barbados. The couple have recently put the finishing touches to a brand new dream house they have built in Sligo.
