Its crazy and the whole Irish music industry is suffering as a result
Music tycoon Louis Walsh has blasted revelations that just three Irish acts — The Script, Royseven and Bressie — made the top 30 most played tracks on Irish radio last year.
Fuming Walsh branded Irish radio stations “a complete disgrace” after Jessie J, Maroon 5 and Adele topped a list of the top songs played in 2011.
“No other country in the world would let this happen,” Louis (59) said. “It’s crazy and the whole Irish music industry is suffering as a result.”
English singer Jessie J and her single Price Tag emerged as the most played song out of the total of 2.6 million plays on 37 national and local radio stations in Ireland.
