Mark Feehily's fiance walked out after seven years together - but the singer is NOT seeing another man, The Star can reveal.
Heartbroken
Mark’s pals rubbished claims that there someone else was involved in the breakup as an "insult".
They confirmed that Mark (31) is not with a new man and does not have a current love interest, despite suggestions that he has hooked up with a posh Englishman. The so-called English lover is described as "very nice, very mannerly and of independent means" and “very well-to-do guy”.
But one pal slammed these claims that Mark has met someone new since his break-up with fiance Kevin McDaid (27). “That’s nonsense. There’s no one else involved,” said the source. “It’s only been a few weeks and he’s trying to come to terms with this separation so to say he’s involved with someone new already is an insult to him and his relationship with Kevin.”
Instead they claim that Mark wanted to work on their relationship but that Kevin had pulled the plug on their future. “I’ve been told that it was Kevin who ended it all not Mark,” the source added. Mark had been engaged to Kevin for nearly two years after popping the question in their fifth year together. They were expected to marry later this year.
However, Mark released an official statement on Twitter on Saturday evening telling fans: "Sadly, Kevin and I are no longer together. We've had an amazing seven years and are both so thankful for the love and support you have shown us from the start."
And he added: "We won't be answering any questions about this as its a very private matter. Thanks in advance for understanding that. Lots of love,Mx" Meanwhile Kevin deleted his Twitter account and has been keeping a low profile to deal with the split.
The couple first met at the Cheerios Childline Concert in 2005. Westlife and boyband V, which Kevin used to be a member of, both performed at the event. Kevin (27) was born in Nigeria but grew up in England.
