The ex-Phantom presenter has said she is heartbroken over the news the station will be rebranded

Alternative music station Phantom FM closed down last Sunday after its final broadcasting. It is to be rebranded as TFXM by Communicorp. The Donegal presenter and ex-DJ Michelle Doherty worked at the station for four years, and has spoken out about its end.

She stated “I was gutted to hear about it closing, absolutely heartbroken. I was a big fan of Phantom. My heart went out to my former colleagues, as I would have worked with a lot of them. I was devastated, it's a big loss.”

Doherty is now living in London and commuting regularly back to work as an Xpose presenter while Aisling O’Loughlin is on maternity leave, though as she herself is now pregnant she too will have to take time off soon. She made the unexpected move from her time as a Phantom presenter to London due to the unsociable early hours of the job, preferring to work later hours.
