Singer Sinead O'Connor has claimed to have had her "tubes done."
The 45 year old made the claim to have tubal ligation - which prevents women from getting pregnant - in a conversation on her Twitter page yesterday.
"Jaysus, I'll get pregnant if I use your handkerchief, even tho I have the tubes done," she said to a Twitter user called Martin.
When women get their "tubes done" the surgeon blocks the tubes that transport the egg to the womb.
Men can also choose to become sterile by getting a vasectomy, and in both cases it does not affect their sex drive.
Sinead has four children.
She joined a dating agency after claiming her last marriage to Barry Herridge was definitely over.
Pleading for privacy she said last month that she and Berry Herridge (38) had parted for good but still "had the greatest love and respect for one another".
She married the drugs counsellor in Las Vegas on December 8 last year.
