6: Derek Mooney has no idea who the Kardahians are
RTE broadcaster Derek Mooney has embarrassingly admitted he has never heard of global reality TV star Kim Kardashian. During a chat with reputable New York columnist Lenor Scenazy on his show yesterday, the presenter said he never heard of the bombshell or her sisters. “Who are the Kardashians? I’m hearing about them all the time,” he asked. Skenazy sounded surprised that he didn't know them and had to inform him about the end of her 72-day marriage to NBA Kris Humphries, which broke showbiz headlines all over the world. “I wouldnít go out of my way to watch their programme and I’m very much on the periphery of popular culture,” he admitted. The straight-talking columnist poked fun at him for not knowing their background but Mooney, who is RTE's seventh highest-paid employee curtly replied. “I don’t know who they are and I couldn’t care less, life's too short...I would rather watch Jedward.” (via Irish Daily Star)
