It looks like there’s been another casualty in Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ shock divorce — poor
Victoria Beckham.
The Cruises were the first couple Posh (38) and Becks (37) made friends with when they moved to Los Angeles in 2007.
So their split has left a gaping hole for a power couple to fill in the Beckham’s lives.
But Posh already has her ambitious eye on their replacements — step forward Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
According to a source, Victoria has been trying to arrange a lunch date with Angie while the pair are both in London over the summer.
Angie has been filming in England for weeks and will be spending much of the rest of the year here. Victoria is rumoured to be rehearsing with the Spice Girls to perform at the closing ceremony of the Olympics this Sunday.
“Posh was hoping Brad and Angie would hang out with her and David at the Olympics, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen,” a pal told Goss. “But that hasn’t put off Posh. She has always been the ultimate networker and Angelina is one of her heroes.
Sources say Posh is “keen to cultivate” a friendship with the actress and maybe even turn the actress into her new BFF. “Clearly, she and David won’t be hanging out with Tom and Katie any more as a foursome,” continued the friend.
“Posh thinks Brad and Angie would be the ideal replacement as power-couple pals.” But sadly for Posh, insiders claim Angie isn’t likely to take her up on her offer any time soon.
“She hates schmoozing and is quite shy,” added another source. “She rarely has a night out with anyone, unless she has known them for years.
Meanwhile, Victoria and David will have a hard time hooking up with Brad in LA, as he’s in their native England shooting a film. The megastar was spotted grabbing a coffee as he strolled home from the set of his new flick in London.
The suited and booted actor was seen rocking a ponytail on Saturday for his role as a dodgy lawyer in
The Counselor. He stars opposite Hollywood babes Penelope Cruz (38) and Cameron Diaz (39) in the blockbuster due out next year.
