Hollywood actor Zac Efron was reportedly punched in the face last weekend in a “dodgy” area of downtown Los Angeles.
A police patrol car witnessed a fight between a group of men and when they went to break it up discovered that it was the 26-year-old actor along with his bodyguard and at least three homeless men.
The questioned by the police, Efron said that they had run out of petrol in the area and were waiting for a tow. The star said they threw a bottle out of the window and it smashed near a group of men who appeared to be homeless. The group of men thought the bottle was being thrown at them and subsequently confronted the Hollywood actor.
Efron said that the men attacked his bodyguard and when the actor got out of the car he got punched in the mouth saying it was “the hardest I’ve ever been hit in my life.”
The police told American news site TMZ that no one was arrested because they viewed the incident as “mutual combat.”
Efrom checked into rehab twice last year for cocaine addiction but has since come out and has a much more positive outlook on life.
“I’m so happy. I feel like I’m in a great place and I’m glad that I’m really here to share this moment with everybody and be present for all of it.”
