Pete Holmes True Detective Parody Is Actually Entertaining Than True Detective
“Sometimes I see clues in birds. Bird clues.”

Pete Holmes is fast becoming my go-to guy for sketches and parodies.

He made a convincing argument on the importance of bland neighbourly social ping pong.

He parodied Street Fighter knowing it would still be funny despite not being on the public unconscious for the better part of two decades.

And now he’s taking shots at True Detective’s pessimistic protagonist, Rustin “Rust” Cohle and his infamous distain for literally everything. Not that I’m bad mouthing HBO’s new crime drama, far from it. True Detective is singular in its category. But there can be no denying that Matthew McConaughey’s pissed off, miserable, drug addled detective is ripe for parody.
