Did the announcement of a Bourne film without Matt Damon leave you a little puzzled? A new 3-minute featurette has been released where the team explain their motivations behind the film and where The Bourne Legacy fits into the universe. As the video explains, the Treadstone program outlined in the original trilogy was just one program. Legacy will run concurrently with the events that unfolded in the closing chapter of The Bourne Ultimatum.

Included in the video are snippets of Jeremy Renner putting his specialised training to good use as Aaron Cross, and an introduction to some of the story elements and driving forces. There are also some glimpses at behind the scenes action, so you can see shots unfold in their raw form. The cast and crew are interviewed to give you all the details from those closest to the project.

The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz. The film will be released on August 10th in North America and August 13th in Europe.
