We got the chance to see The Big Short yesterday and it's a terrific look at the way the global housing market crashed, and the steps that led to it. That may sound depressing but it's mostly sold as a comedy, with famous people popping up from time to time to explain the bigger ideas.
That comic touch no doubt comes from director Adam McKay, who has been making us laugh since his early days with SNL all the way through two Anchorman films, Step Brothers and The Other Guys. With the film about to arrive in cinemas, we've just heard that McKay himself will be in Dublin to attend the Irish premiere!
The screening takes place on Wednesday the 20th of January and you'll be able to catch McKay on the red carpet at the Savoy Cinema on O'Connell Street before the big event.
It's a big time for the film, which just picked up a massive five Oscar nominations, including Best Film and Best Director as well as a Best Supporting Actor nod for a brilliant turn by Christian Bale.
The Big Short is in cinemas on the 22nd of January 2016.
