As you really should know by now, there's a new Marvel TV series about to kick off and it's sounding very cool indeed.
Agent Carter returns to the character first played by Hayley Atwell in Captain America: The First Avenger and sees her adjusting to life after Cap was lost in the ice. The main plot will be about the formation of the original SHIELD alongside none other than Howard Stark - Tony's dad!
Agent Carter is set to debut during a mid season break for Agents of SHIELD from the 6th of January 2015. The character has already appeared in this season of SHIELD a couple of times and (given Marvel's penchant for connected worlds) its reasonable to assume there'll be some more cross over between the two.
Now, ABC has revealed that they're giving Agent Carter a big premiere, with a 2 hour movie-lengthed event. The first two episodes will screen back to back, with the other six episodes showing into February. It's a fitting start for what promises to be an even more big budget series than SHIELD - given its movie connections and period setting - and we can't wait to see how it plays into the wider Marvelverse.
Agent Carter premieres on ABC in the US on the 6th of January 2015. There's no confirmed Irish/UK broadcast date just yet.
