We've been hearing about Maggie for a long time now, and finally we're getting a look at some footage.
It's a film about what happens when a man played by Arnold Schwarzenegger finds out that his daughter (Abigail Breslin) has been infected by a terrible disease. He's given a short amount of time before she must go into quarantine but when he can't bring himself to let go, things get a whole lot more complicated. Did we mention she's slowly turning into a zombie?
Here's the trailer, we're already very excited.
Ooh there's so much going on here. You've got the familial struggle and a world on the brink of apocalypse and also something of a new take on the zombie genre, or at least a refinement of what has gone before. We rarely get to focus on the human component of these walking brain-eaters but this looks like a very intimate drama about death and bereavement, with some added makeup effects and Arnie actually crying.
The film is the directorial debut of graphics guy Henry Hobson (he did the titles for Killzone Shadowfall!) so you know it's going to look great. It's written by first timer John Scott 3 and also stars Joely Richardson.
Maggie is getting a limited release in the US in May 2015 and arrives across the pond in June.
