Twentieth Century Fox has delayed the Assassin's Creed film with its release now expected in 2016.
The film, which will star Michael Fassbender, was originally set to be released on August 7th, 2015, but has been delayed as a result of several script rewrites and production scheduling issues.
The Assassin’s Creed movie has been in the pipeline for some time now. Ubisoft announced that Michael Fassbender would assume the central role back in 2012, though it is unknown which character from the franchise he will play. Recently, it was reported that Ubisoft and New Regency were in discussions with Macbeth director Justin Kurzel to direct the film.
With this much time to work on the project, we’re hoping that it’s a film adaptation of a video game that is handled correctly.
