Superhero movies have pretty much taken over these days, with the second Avengers film gearing up for release next week. And while Marvel may be the at the top of the heap right now, those folks over at DC have quite the revolution brewing, with a little help from Superman and Batman.
Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice launches in early 2016, kicking off the DC universe in real style. It'll act as a continuation of the world established by Man of Steel while also looking forward to the Justice League movie, the first of which is planned for release in 2017. We've had very little information about Bats v Supes to date and thankfully that's about to change with this annoucement and teeny tease from director Zack Snyder.
Obviously there isn't much to the teaser - hence the name - but it makes a lot of sense to debut the trailer in IMAX and make it a bit of event, especially right before the world gets taken over by The Avengers and just when the Star Wars Celebration is set to kick off. The link in the Tweet above is only for participating IMAX locations in the US, we're looking into whether the footage will be screening anywhere else but you can be sure it will be officially released online before long.
We also think it looks a bit like someone misplaced Superman's head in the teaser.
Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter also appear and Gal Gadot will make her debut as Wonder Woman at some point.
See the film in cinemas in Ireland on the 25th of March 2016.
