I'm excited about Furious 7 for a whole host of reasons but mainly because the franchise has become a real haven for action fans ever since Fast Five.
And they're going even bigger for the latest film.
The scene where the guys parachute in cars out of an airplane has been heavily trailered but did you ever actually imagine that they might do it for real? The Fast series was noted more in its early entries as the kind of movie which would do car chases with CG and crappy looking cockpits. Not anymore. Here's how they filmed it. With little regard for personal safety, apparently.
Skydivers with helmet cams, actual cars zipping through the air on parachutes, a massive airplane and a helicopter, all flying around in the air and hoping not to crash into each other or land on some poor unfortunate on the ground. No major injuries happened on set, which makes it even more sad that star Paul Walker passed away in a car crash while on a break from shooting in late 2013. If nothing else, the scale of the action is going to be a real credit to him.
Furious 7 is in cinemas on April 3rd 2015.
