You may think that zombie movies have kind of been done to death (har-har, etc) but that doesn't mean filmmakers are going to stop trying to come up with new takes on the material.
Case in point - Burying the Ex, which is kinda about breaking up with someone and kinda about what happens when that person comes back from the dead and wants to eat your tasty brains. Here's the trailer.
The set up is pretty horrifying but its definitely played for comedy here. The whole thing reeks of a forgotten 80s film - which makes it fitting that it was directed by Joe Dante, the man behind Gremlins, Innerspace and The 'Burbs. That said, it all seems a little awkard and forced here, which is a shame as he's a talented director who just can't seem to find his feet in the modern cinema age.
It looks like Burying the Ex is getting a video on demand release in the summer, that's probably not a great sign either.
