Caroline Morahan will host the IFTAs 2015

The IFTA Awards 2015 is all change - including splitting the event in twain to honour Film & Drama in May and TV in October - and there's more change on the way in the form of new presenter Caroline Morahan!

She'll be taking on the role for the first time as mistress of ceremonies for the Film & Drama awards at the Mansion House Dublin on Sunday the 24th of May 2015, following in the footsteps of James Nesbitt, Ryan Tubridy, Victoria Smurfit and Simon Delaney.

Morahan is a well-known star of TV, with her work on RTE's Off the Rails alongside Pamela Flood for many years. More recently she's worked in film and on the stage, with an acclaimed performance in She Stoops to Conquer at the Abbey in 2014.

She spoke about getting the chance to host the IFTAs:

"It's a real honour to have been asked to host the IFTA Awards. It is such an important and prestigious event celebrating a wealth of homegrown talent in the film and television industry."

The award show on the 24th of May will be home to a galaxy of stars, with major nominations for the likes of Domhnall Gleeson, Michael Fassbender, Colin Farrell, Aidan Gillen, Lenny Abrahamson, Stephen Rea, Sarah Greene, Andrew Scott, Maria Doyle Kennedy and many more. Acclaimed director Jim Sheridan will also be receiving a well-deserved Lifetime Achivement Award at the ceremony.

The Irish Film and Television Academy Film and Drama Awards will be given out on Sunday the 24th of May 2015, with the ceremony broadcast on TV3 on Monday the 25th.
