Cars 3 is a real thing, and you can't stop it from happening.
Pixar is going back to the well of their worst series (by any measure) for a third time, and they're kicking off the marketing with this oddly dark trailer.
It seems Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) is getting into a spot of bother and he's going to have to rebuild himself to get to the top of the racing pack again. That will probably involve training montages to a pop song, with the help from a new character from a racial minority. In this case named Cruz Ramirez.
A random fact - the trailer was apparently rendered using the Frostbite 3 game graphics engine, which is a bit strange if true.
Cars 3 is out in summer 2017.
