Chris O'Dowd is really getting around these days.
Not content with having a strong comedy career thanks to hits like The IT Crowd, creating and starring in his own TV show with Moone Boy and playing with the drama in John Michael McDonagh's Moone Boy he's also just gone and earned rave reviews for his Broadway debut.
The Boyle-born star is appearing in a new adaptation of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men opposite James Franco and Leighton Meester and he's put on weight, shaved his head and grown a fairly incredible beard for the part. He plays the part of Lennie - mentally slow but physically strong and a companion for the quick-witted George (Franco).
Lennie's story is the tragic heart of the tale and reviews suggest O'Dowd gives a tremendous performances, capturing the simplicity and power of the character, a man just looking for a little bit of luck in his life.
Of Mice and Men plays at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway in New York until the 27th of July 2014.
