Since its announcement, the new Ghostbusters with an all-female line-up has been getting plenty of attention, but those behind it would have preferred if people were looking at it in a more positive light.
However, standing behind them is Dan Aykroyd who saw an early screening of the reboot. He took to social media following the test screening to sing its praises. He also outs a cameo, so avoid reading on if you were hoping to avoid that particular detail.
"As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see that and bringing all my friends," he wrote.
Early reaction to the film's existence has been quite negative, but perhaps the support of Aykroyd will make people a little more open to the reboot.
Ghostbusters, starring Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones, will be in cinemas from July 11.
