We were lucky enough to get the chance to see Darkness on the Edge of Town at the Clifden Sky Road Film Festival a few months back and it was one of the standout features during the three day event.
Now we're happy to report that the film will be heading to pastures new, as its been selected to screen at the Slamdance Film Festival in Utah in January 2015. The film will screen in competition and is part of just 11 features in the Narrative section. It's also one of two European films at the fest and marks the first ever time an indieIrish film has show there since Slamdance kicked off in 1995.
Acclaimed filmmakers like Christopher Nolan and Oren Pelicame up through their appearances at Slamdance and it's the perfect showcase for the film's international premiere.
The film is about two young girls and the tale of betrayal and revenge which draws them together in an isolated part of rural Ireland. A troubled sharpshooter (Emma Eliza Regan) investigates what happened to her sister with the help of her best friend (Emma Willis). But things are not at all what they seem.
Best of luck for the Slamdance screening one and all!
