Ok so we've made no secret about how excited we are for upcoming Marvel movie Deadpool - with Ryan Reynolds cursing and killing as the merc with the mouth. It's still a massive surprise that the film was allowed to go out with an R-rating, especially when you consider it was financed by the studio behind the X-Men movies, but we're very grateful for it. However, it turns out some material still had to be cut, but we will get to see it in the future.
Deadpool co-star T.J. Miller was at a special early screening of the film in London (Reynolds was there too!) and briefly mentioned the fact that a director's cut is on the way:
That's not massively surprising, Fox has a history of releasing different cuts of some of their comic book movies on home video and Deadpool is the kind of property which will hopefully have a healthy second life on disk. It's likely that a lot of this material will be extra mean line readings from the likes of Miller and Reynolds who are great at off the cuff riffs. There's a small chance that more violence will be included but on this budget we're expecting all of that stuff to be in the film.
Reynolds is here with an idea of the kind of banter which didn't make it into the finished film.
Deadpool is in cinemas in Ireland on the 10th of February 2016.
