Catholic priest Father Christopher and idealistic schoolteacher Joe Connor try to protect Tutsis from machete-wielding Hutu extremists in 1994 Rwanda. As angry crowds gather outside the school, which is guarded by United Nations troops, Christopher and Joe risk their lives to gather the supplies necessary to keep the refugees safe and well. As the volatile political situation deteriorates, Father Christopher realises that foreign governments are turning a blind eye to the genocide.
