Dracula Untold Director Talks About the Possibility of a Connected Universal Monster Movie Universe

Dracula Untold is in cinemas this week, from first time Irish director Gary Shore and starring Luke Evans as an all new vision of the legendary Count.

Right now, the internet is abuzz with news that Universal Studios could be getting ready to create their own series of interconnected movies - in this case bringing their classic movie monsters together in a multi-media, cross-promotional series of films. And Dracula Untold would seem like a perfect place to start.

So we asked Dracula Untold director Gary Shore for his thoughts on crossover movies to come in the future from Universal: "It's something that I'm sure the studiio would want to do if the audience votes with their feet and comes to see the film. And if the audience is engaged with the story, if they want to see the story being told for a couple of films they'll let them know. Me, I'm just focussing on one film at a time."

Fair thoughts from the one director but there's no doubt that this is something Universal would be interested in and, given the quality of Dracula Untold, its increasingly something which we would like to see as audience members.

Dracula Untold is in cinemas from the 3rd of October, watch the full inteview with Gary Shore here.
