I'm not sure that I really have a lot to say about the trailer for Dumb and Dumber To.
20 years ago the Farrelly brothers along with Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey made a funny movie about two idiots.
Two decades later, now it feels like we're the idiots.
Now I don't have the fanatical fandom for the first movie that many people seem to have (its funny but I kind of prefer There's Something About Mary) and I managed to stick with the Farrelly Brothers for longer than most. Then The Heartbreak Kid happened and I was totally out.
So is this an attempt at a comeback after the total failure of The Three Stooges? Or is it more about trying to find work for Carrey, who hasn't had a lead role since Mr. Popper's Penguins? It's likely no skin of Daniels' nose, with his work on The Newsroom he's arguably at the peak of his career.
I just don't remember the original being so outrageously crude and while its a tone that works to some degree with guys in their 20s, when you up that age by 20 years it all stars to bother my bile a little bit.
Anyway, Dumb and Dumber To will be in cinemas from the 19th of December.
