The Fast & Furious franchise seems unstoppable. Its most recent iteration took the box office by storm, so it’s not that surprising that an eighth film is planned. Now, Dwayne Johnson says that a spin-off could also be on the cards.
He revealed that there are a number of people interested in a Hobbs-centric spin-off. Johnson revealed, “I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input.”
No matter what happens with that, it seems that Hobbs will be back in Fast 8. When asked by Collider if he would return for the next film in the series, Johnson said, “Of course. It can’t go on without Hobbs.”
Fast & Furious 8 is expected to squeal into cinemas on April 14th, 2017.
