Elton John plans big screen adaptation of Billy Elliot the Musical

Elton John is considering making a film version of his stage show, Billy Elliot the Musical. Yes, he wants to create a new film based on the musical that’s based on a film.

Sir Elton revealed that he would like to do a film version of the show after its 10th anniversary performance. He said that there were songs left out of the stage show that would be great in the film.

He added: "You can only do so much on stage with the material you've got and the length of the show, so I think if one did a movie of this show it would be nice to change some things and maybe put something fresh in."

The stage show opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre on May 12th, 2005. It has since been seen by 10 million people worldwide.

Billy Elliot the Musical's run in London has been extended to December, 2016. It will begin its first UK and Ireland tour in February, 2016.
