Remakes don't bother me in the slightest, especially when it comes to a story as familiar as that of The Magnificent Seven, itself a remake of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. So who cares if the essential story is back again, so long as the new version is actually good.
Well I'm going to go ahead and predict that The Magnificent Seven is going to be good, mostly because these trailers are pretty darn epic.
Of course there's a little more to go on, including the fact that it sees director Antoine Fuqua reteaming with star Denzel Washington. Their last was The Equalizer and the relationship goes back to 2001 and Training Day, which earned the star his first ever Best Actor Academy Award.
There's also a supporting cast including the very busy Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke (who was also in Training Day), Vincent D'Onofrio and Byung-hun Lee. We're not sure baddie Peter Sarsgaard can keep up with that lot as the baddie, but he's got some help from Matt Bomer and Vinnie Jones.
The Magnificent Seven is coming out in September, 2016.
