The live video feature has become something of success story over a short period of time for Facebook and now it looks like they are going to try and branch out even more with their own original programming, which they will stream on their site.
Facebook has a huge amount of daily users already around the world so a popular show on facebook could be viewed an incredible number of times.
This could in theory lead to huge revenue in advertising, which could mean that facebook could become a pretty legitimate studio for producing television.
This is all of course just a theory for now as no original program has actually been filmed yet for the service.
Ricky Van Veen, one of the founders of comedy website and online video content producers College Humour, is rumoured to be leading the charge in original programming, after joining facebook earlier in the year.
Will reviews of their programs now be aggregated by likes we wonder?
