As is usually the case this time of year, major movie studios have been busy sorting out their release schedule for the next few years, and one studio that's been particularly busy is 20th Century Fox. Following the news this week and a Fantastic Four follow-up was definitely on the cards, the studio has now confirmed a release date for the project - it'll hit theatres on July 14th, 2017.
Another recently announced superhero flick to get the release date treatment is the latest instalment in the Wolverine franchise. Following on from the disappointing The Wolverine last year, Fox has confirmed that another entry into the series, this time directed by James Mangold, will be hitting screens on March 3rd, 2017.
A mystery listing for July 13 2018 could be a Fantastic Four and X-Men crossover, at least if The Hollywood Reporter is to be believed. Nothing has been announced by Fox on that front yet, beyond the fact that it's locked that date down for an unannounced Marvel project, but speculation is mounting that it could combine two of its biggest comic book franchises - or it could be an all new project (to be honest, we're hoping for the latter).
Non-superhero movies to get their street dates announced by Fox this week include The Secret Service (October 24 2014),Taken 3 (January 9 2015), a new Vince Vaughn flick (March 6 2015), Frankenstein (October 2 2015) and a brand new movie from much-lauded helmer Ridley Scott (March 4 2016).
