We
previously brought you the news that Irish creature feature
Grabbers was heading to cinemas this August and now we’ve got a full trailer for the film.
Grabbers debuted at
Sundance in January before appearing at the
Edinburgh Film Festival and opening the
Galway Film Fleadh in July, picking up strong reviews everywhere for its comedy and above average effects. It tells the story of a new female gardai who takes up a post on a remote island of the coast of Ireland and gets more than she can handle when some alien invaders show up.
Check out the trailer.
The film comes from director
Jon Wright, who has a movie in pre-production right now called
Howl which is described as ‘werewolves on a train.’ We want to see it now. The film stars
Richard (I’ll never be remember for anything except Coupling) Coyle,
Ruth Bradley,
Russell Tovey and a bunch of Irish actors you’ve seen before. We think it looks rather good and we’ll have a full review and interview right soon.
Grabbers is in cinemas from the 10th of August.
