Snatch director going back to the middle ages in 2016...

Guy Ritchie, the acclaimed director of movies including the likes of Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells and Rocknrolla, has been announced as the director for Warner's forthcoming feature King Arthur. The movie is set for release on June 22nd, 2016, and it marks the end of Warner's long pursual of a project set around the medieval king.

At the moment, there's absolutely no information available for the movie, so it's unknown what angle the studio plans to take on the tale, but one thing is for sure, with Ritchie in the director's chair there'll definitely be plenty of witty dialogue, animated exchanges and, most likely, plenty of sword-swinging action to keep cinema goers entertained.

With Ritchie still putting the finishing touches on his current project, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which is also for Warner, production isn't scheduled to begin on King Arthur just yet, but we should start seeing rumours of scriptwriters and cast members being lined up in the very near future.
