Bryan Singer enjoys using social media to break news about his films and excite the fans. He shared an image of Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) from the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
X-Men: Apocalypse will continue the story of the X-Men after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The story moves into the 1980s, which allows Singer to bring in younger versions of classic heroes.
Smit-McPhee will play a younger version of the teleporting mutant Nightcrawler, who featured in X2: X-Men United, played by Alan Cumming. Also on the roster are Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Havok (Lucas Till), and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).
Of course, we can’t forget that James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicolas Hoult will resume their roles. And then there are rumours that Evan Peters, who made quite the impact as Quicksilver in Days of Future Past, will return. Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac will star as Apocalypse himself.
That’s quite the cast…and there are still more roles to fill.
We’ll see how this extensive cast works out when X-Men: Apocalypse is released in May, 2016.
