Here's the Really Really Weird First Trailer for Ryan Gosling's Directorial Debut
There's a bike in it!

Ryan Gosling is a talented man - anyone who has seen his acting or his abs knows this for a fact. And now the 33 year old is branching out to conquer a new sphere with his first film has a director.

Lost River (which was originally called How to Catch a Monster - which made it sound more interesting) is about a single mother played by Christina Hendricks who gets drawn into a dark fantasy underworld when her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.

That sounds cuckoo enough, wait til you get a load of the trailer.

After that frankly bizarre synopsis you get an even stranger teaser trailer which appears to have nothing in common with what we've been told about the plot. At least that young lad there is Bones (played by SHIELD'sIain De Caestecker) who is supposed to be Hendricks' kid - despite there being only 13 years between them.

And where the heck does Matt Smith fit into this? And why does he want us to look at his muscles? And why isn't his role being played by Gosling!?

Much of this will probably not be revealed when the film gets its first airing at Cannes on the 20th of May. We're guessing those reviews are going to be divisive.

Lost River also stars Saoirse Ronan, Eva Mendes and Ben Mendelsohn and doesn't have a release date yet. Expect word as the Cannes market continues.
