The news surrounding 20th Century Fox's recently announced sequel to The Wolverine just keeps coming! This time, Deadline is reporting that Jackman, an actor who has become synonymous with the character, and scribe David James Kelly have both been signed up for the movie.
While there was little doubt in our minds that Jackman would reprise his role, there had been suggestions that he was giving serious consideration to stepping away from a character he has made his own over the course of the last 14 years, but those fears have been proven to be unfounded, with Jackman telling Vanity Fair that he's excited by the prospect of working with director James Mangold once more.
David James Kelly is perhaps less of a known quantity on the comic book adaptation scene, although he did work on the ill-fated Daredevil flick from a few years back - which probably won't inspire anyone with confidence, but few writers can boast a flawless record.
The Wolverine 2 is currently slated for release on March 2nd, 2017, so there's plenty of time for everyone invovled to improve over last year's disappointing The Wolverine.
