The newest trailer for
Zero Dark Thirty introduces viewers to some of the major players involved in the hunt for Osama bin Laden, including
Jessica Chastain as the CIA operative Maya. There is an ever-present sense that danger lurks at every turn, and the trailer showcases exactly why as firefights can break out at any moment.
We get an impression of what we can expect from the movie from this trailer, which features action on the streets, in the Operations room, and dialogue from the front line and military camps. The added touch of a children’s choir singing Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters is a little haunting if nothing else.
The film follows the build-up to the Navy SEAL operation, which saw the team descend on a safe house in Pakistan searching for Osama bin Laden. The narrative switches between the suits in America and the soldiers on the ground. Zero Dark Thirty is directed by Kathryn Bigelow, and stars
Jessica Chastain,
Kyle Chandler and
Joel Edgerton. Zero Dark Thirty will be released on January 11th, 2013 in North America and January 25th in Europe.
