IFTA 2014 Winners - Calvary and Jamie Dornan Triumph
Quite a night for the young actor

The Irish Film and Television Awards 2014 have come and gone, with the ceremony taking place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Dublin hosted by Laura Whitmore and Simon Delaney and broadcast 'semi-live' on RTE. So who were the big winners?

Its not much of a surprise to hear that Calvary took its fair share of awards, including best film, best script for John Michael McDonagh and a deserved gong for lead star Brendan Gleeson. But the real stand out of the night was actually young Jamie Dornan. The Northern Irish actor not only took the award for best actor in a lead role in TV for his part in The Fall but also nabbed the Rising Star win. Add the fact that The Fall won best TV drama in quite the shock win and the future's looking bright for the 32 year old - at least until 2015 when that adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey arrives.
