Last year's Divergent was an entertaining young adult adaptation, mainly thanks to some decent action scenes and a strong lead performance by young Shailene Woodley.
It earned close to $300 million on an $85 million budget - not a smash hit by any means but enough to keep Summit Entertainment (the folks behind Twilight) interested, banking on an even bigger return for the second movie in the sequence.
That film is Insurgent, and it already looks like its going to have a significantly bigger budget in this pre-Superbowl teaser.
This all looks very teasy indeed, like footage that isn't even a part of the film, but we're willing to guess that it actually takes place inside a fear landscape. These are simulations used to explore the deepest, darkest issues inside a person in the Divergent universe, and for Tris Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) definitely represents that kind of threat.
Also, it all looks far to expensive to just appear in a promo. And the styleties into the earlier teaser which saw Tris trying to rescue her mother.
Insurgent is directed by Robert Schwentke and also stars Theo James, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller and Naomi Watts. See it in cinemas from the 20th of March 2015.
