Now in its third year the Fingal Film Festival is all about showcasing the best independent cinema from home and abroad. And the programme for 2014 certainly reflects that.
The festival runs from the 26th to the 28th of September and first upis a documentary about an Irish rower who braves the Atlantic for a incredible feat of endurance. And that film will be followed by the Irish premiere of Palo Alto, starring James Franco and Emma Roberts. Based on a story by the prolific Franco, its a tale of lust and deceit between a young woman and an older man.
Also in the programme you'll find Columbian film Jardin de Amapolas, Irish docudrama A Terrible Beauty, basketball tale Calloused hands and Iranian drama The Corridor. The festival closes on Sunday evening with comedy Blitzfood - which seems to be mostly about suffering. And might be a bit mental.
There will also be a series of shorts from around the world and special festival workshops, including classes by animation company Boulder Media and a behind the scenes look at Sound Design.
The festival runs from the 26th to the 28th of September 2014 at Movies @ Swords in the Pavilions Shopping Centre.
