Jack Reynor is in town today to introduce the Irish premiere of Transformers: Age of Extinction but the rising star has a packed slate of other projects on the boil.
One of the most interesting is Glassland. It's an Irish indie feature from Gerard Barrett - the young filmmaker who got a tiny Credit Union loan to fund his first feature Pilgrim Hill. He's back with something a bit more ambitious as Glassland deals with a taxi driver (Reynor) who gets involved with the criminal underworld in an effort to save his family.
Barrett not only has a great lead in Reynor but he's got some international talent including Australian Golden Globe winner Toni Collette as well as BAFTA Rising Star winner Will Poulter and creepy chap Michael Smiley. We'll have to wait and see how they get on with the Irish accent.
Glassland will get its world premier at the 2014 Galway Film Fleadh. Writer/director Gerard Barrett will be there for the screening on the 11th of July and you can get tickets here.
Glassland will be on general release later in 2014.
