Jean-Claude Van Damme's Amazon show green lit

Jean-Claude Van Damme had a pilot set up at Amazon for a show called Jean-Claude Van Johnson, and it's going to get made.

The pitch is that the real JCVD is actually a killer for hire, and his work as an actor is just a cover for the missions he undertakes around the world. Operating under the name 'Johnson' he will take on the most dangerous jobs, while also keeping up his silver screen appearances.

The pilot episode was made to garner interest for a full series and Amazon has announced that it now has the green light. The show will join the new version of The Tick and I Love Dick in full series orders to debut on Amazon Prime in 2017.

Prime isn't at the level of Netflix yet but the projects they are pursuing are high quality- including The Man in the High Castle, Transparent and the multi-award-winning Mozart in the Jungle.

Here's a quick look at the new JCVD show.
