Star Wars VII director JJ Abrams hosted the US-Ireland Aliiance's Oscar Wilde Awards where he described Domhnall Gleeson as a joy to work with.
He was full of praise when speaking about the Irish actor. He told the Herald, “He is such a brilliant actor. I cannot tell you how lucky we are to have him. He is so good and so smart. He's an utter joy to work with.”
Gleeson will appear in the upcoming Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. His role is top secret, as he told us when we interviewed him during the press tour for Ex Machina.
This year marked the tenth year of the annual Oscar Wilde Awards. They were held in the run-up to Sunday’s Academy Awards with Star Wars actor Carrie Fisher, American TV host Stephen Colbert, and artist Colin Davidson walking away with Oscar Wilde gongs.
The awards certainly sound like a blast. Abrams said it’s different than other pre-Oscar nights as it’s the “most fun, has the best music, and it certainly has the most Guinness."
