There are a few things which make me somewhat excited for the possibility of a new Peter Pan movie - Chiefly director Joe Wright who is one of the more interesting men in the game.
And I say that not only because Pride & Prejudice was a charmer and Anna Karenina a stunner but mainly because of 2011's Hanna, which saw the director working in elements of fantasy and action which will stand to him most on his latest project.
Production for Pan (which is what I'm going to call it) is set to start on the 28th of April 2014 at the massive Warner Bros Studios at Leavesden in Hertfordshire UK. The former home of the Harry Potter series as well as Inception and GoldenEye leaves plenty of scope for studio shooting and Wright's recent work on Anna K suggests he might have little interest in location shots.
There's also the cast to consider, led by young Levi Miller as Peter himself. The story is all about the origin of the characters (of course) and will see Peter become the person we know from J.M. Barrie's story. Joining him will be Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garret Hedlund as a younger Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger-Lily and Amanda Seyfried as Mary.
Pan will be in cinemas on the 17th of July 2015.
Here's the trailer for Hanna - more of you really should have seen it.
