Joss Whedon likes to be busy but he took this vice to a whole new level in 2011 when he decided to shoot a feature film while on a short break from editing
The Avengers. In his house. In 12 days. With no budget.
The result is
Much Ado About Nothing - an adaptation of
Shakespeare's play which transplants the text to modern California and peppers it modern flourishes while also retaining the wonderful dialogue and silly slapstick which makes the original so memorable.
The film also gave Whedon the chance to work with some familiar faces from his previous movies and TV shows, including
Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Clark Gregg, Reed Diamond, Fran Kranz, Sean Maher and the ever entertaining
Nathan Fillion who steals the show as the idiotic Dogberry.
We got the chance to grab the
Whedon on the red carpet for a quick chat, check out the video below.
We think he's just about the coolest person on the planet, who's with us?!
Much Ado About Nothing is coming to cinemas in June 2013 and we'll have a full interview with Whedon up then.
