Like Colin Firth.
Throwing the boot in on a few scummers.
Using an umbrella.
Yes, THAT Colin Firth.
Kingsman: The Secret Service is the latest effort from Matthew Vaughn. It’s the first film the Kick Ass director has done in almost four years, when X-Men: First Class revitalised a lagging franchise. And in the interim years, it seems he’s gotten consistently more naff.
That’s not to say Kingsman doesn’t have its charm, like a pub brawl with Colin Firth, or a limb-slicing blade-legged gymnast. But this one is aimed decidedly at a teen audience. It’s a bit like Harry Potter, but with spies in place of wizards…. And blades in place of legs.
Based on comic run The Secret Service by Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) and Mark Millar (Kick Ass), KIngsman: The Secret Service is due in cinemas on February 5th 2015. Now, go watch that guy from Pride and Prejudice glass some punks!
