King Kong is coming back to our screens, and it's looking rather tasty.
12 years after Peter Jackson took a stab at the big fella, Kong Skull Island will be showing us a new origin story for the beast. This tale is set in the 70s, bringing a different flavour and an impressive cast.

The Vietnam-era feel is a great addition to the film, and setting up Kong as a threat before revealing that there are other nasties around adds an interesting dynamic.
Of course making Kong out to be something of a good guy ties into what Legendary Pictures is trying to build here, with a connected universe also featuring that terrible lizard Godzilla. They'll be facing off against one another in Godzilla vs Kong which is set for release in 2020.
For the moment you can look forward to seeing Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Kong with mocap by acclaimed physical performer Terry Notary.
Kong Skull Island is out in Ireland on the 10th of March, 2017.
