While there have been rumblings of late of prequels to The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence has no intentions of featuring in any proposed films.
Speaking at the premiere of Joy, she told Variety, that she wouldn't be involved. "I think it’s too soon. They’ve got to let the body get cold, in my opinion," she explained.
Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns recently hinted that the studio was exploring new plot lines and spinoff opportunities. He told investors that the series could be like Harry Potter and “live on and on.”
Meanwhile, director Francis Lawrence has said that he would be open to a prequel, but only if author Suzanne Collins was involved. However, he was also pretty sure that we've seen the end of Katniss Everdeen. "I just think with the end of this story, we’ve reached the end of Katniss’ story," he said.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is currently in cinemas.
